In everything, leadership is crucial
In our nation, community, workplace and even in our family, leadership is one of the biggest contributors to our success or downfall.
Since the election is coming, I think it’s just right to discuss, what makes a great leader? For our votes count and the future of our nation is in our hands.
This guide is also applicable in our organization; in choosing who will lead our teams, in identifying who has the potential to lead in the years to come etc.
Allow me to share with you the 3Cs of excellent leadership:
- I share a lot about this in our engagements with many companies and institutions and even penned this down in my latest book, Standout: How to Lead Without Losing Your Values: That leaders should be ethical. It’s not just about what they do, it’s also about how they do it. Behind it all, do they work with integrity? Great leaders are transparent, they have their ears on the ground and they have the genuine heart for service.
- Great leaders know how to get things done. They know how to walk the talk because they are backed with solid experiences and they are well equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to lead the way for people.
- Check the candidates track record, Does their resume speak for how they can make a difference in their tenure? Great leaders know how to maximize their contributions with or without titles. These serves as evidence to how they will use their power and authority
May we take these 3Cs into consideration in selecting our leaders. Remember, leadership binds everything together for good or breaks everything apart.
Your vote matters!
